The Village Christian Church Celebrates 200th Mobile Food Pantry Event, Serving Thousands in Need

The Village Christian Church proudly announces the milestone of hosting its 200th Mobile Food Pantry, a significant achievement in its ongoing mission to serve the local communities and combat food insecurity. The event took place at the Seneca Grade School, South Campus on May 12.
Since launching the initiative in 2015, The Village Christian Church has partnered with Northern Illinois Food Bank and dedicated teams of volunteers to provide consistent, compassionate support through monthly mobile food pantry events.
“We won’t ever understand the full impact of the mobile food pantries, but the feedback we get is unbelievable each time we host one of these events. A woman yesterday thanked us over and over for hosting these events and told me that this puts food on the table for her family for at least a week and it relieves some of the financial pressure of high grocery costs.” – Patrick Ugolini, Seneca Campus Pastor
“One of our missions has always been helping people find Life Purpose. Building a relationship with Jesus while serving others,” said Nate Ferguson, Lead Pastor at The Village Christian Church. “Reaching our 200th Mobile Food Pantry is not just about numbers—it’s about the lives changed, the hearts touched, and the community we’ve built together.”
Each Mobile Food Pantry distributes fresh produce, dairy, meat, and shelf-stable items to anyone in need—no pre-registration or documentation required. The effort is powered by a committed network of volunteers, donors, and community partners who share a vision of no one going hungry.
“This isn’t the finish line,” added Pastor Nate. “It’s a reminder of why we started and the calling we continue to answer—to love our neighbors and meet their needs in real, tangible ways.”
