Big Give For Kids Serves 300+ Local Families, Expands Global Reach

The Village Christian Church Provides Back-to-School Essentials Locally and Sends Outreach Overseas

The Village Christian Church wrapped up another impactful Big Give For Kids event, serving over 300 families across its Minooka and Seneca campuses with much-needed back-to-school supplies, and extending support internationally to children in Nigeria.

Through the generosity of volunteers, donors, and local partners, families received gently used clothing, brand new shoes, socks, underwear, and laundry detergent, helping lift the burden of school-year expenses.

“Our mission has always been to meet people where they are and help them take their next step with God,” said Lead Pastor Nate Ferguson. “Big Give For Kids is one way we show God’s love in a tangible way, no strings attached.”

In addition to local support, a significant portion of clothing donations was sent to a partner ministry in Nigeria, furthering The Village’s global outreach.

The Big Give For Kids was made possible by countless volunteers who sorted clothing, organized items, and greeted families with warmth and dignity. Donations came from church members and neighbors who believe in loving others well.

“This is what it looks like when a community comes together with purpose,” said Sarah Goodin, event coordinator for Big Give For Kids. “Every child deserves to start the school year feeling confident and cared for.”

The Village Christian Church, through its 501c3 charity Reclaim3d, hosts outreach events like this throughout the year as part of its mission help people locally, regionally and globally.
