Feeding the hungry and struggling families in Minooka, Channahon and surrounding families

Feeding Struggling Families In The Minooka Area

Over 100 struggling families in the Minooka/Channahon area received food last night at the monthly food truck. Reclaimed partners with The Village Christian Church and Northern Illinois Food Bank to provide 10,000lbs of food for families in the community that need help with groceries. The families may be dealing with job loss, illness, death of a family member, divorce, or another tough issue.

30 volunteers came out to help with the food truck. They set up the food line, passed out food and carried heavy boxes for the 100+ families. Volunteers included attenders of The Village Christian Church.

Taking care of the people in the community of Minooka and surrounding area is one of Reclaimed’s priorities. Food trucks help these families by providing 10,000 lbs. of food accessible to anyone in need in the spring through the fall. No proof of income or i.d. is required to pick up a box of food, which includes perishables and non-perishables.

This was the last truck for 2017. The 2018 dates will be posted on the website once they have been booked.
