Reclaim3d delivered winter hats, gloves and socks to kids in the inner-city of Chicago, IL from a generous donation from First Midwest Bank Charitable Foundation.

Winter Gear For Inner-City Kids

In December 2017 Reclaim3d received a generous $2500 gift from the First Midwest Bank Charitable Foundation. The First Midwest Charitable Foundation is a private foundation headquartered in Itasca, Illinois. The mission is to fund programs that improve the lives of women and children in their market area.

The result of that generous donation is 52 inner-city kids at Ms. Pearl’s Good News DayCare received a wrapped gift containing a hat, gloves, and a 6-pack of socks. They received these the week before Christmas and were able to take their gift home to open on Christmas. In addition, gloves, hats, and socks were purchased for the moms and staff (38 moms, 6 staff). There is still more coming…Reclaim3d will be ordering chairs and storage bins for the daycare too.

Ms.Pearl’s Good News Daycare is in the Roseland community on the south side of Chicago. Roseland is one of the roughest neighborhoods in Chicago. Gangs, drugs, prostitution, murders, unemployment, and hopelessness are prevalent. Ms. Pearl Willis, the founder of Good News Day Care, provides a nurturing environment giving encouragement and hope back to the community.

While the moms go to school and/or work, their children are fed and provided with a quality pre-school education. The children learn math, science, social studies, letters and numbers, colors and shapes. There is reading time, nap time, play time, and clean-up time. They also learn about Jesus and his love for them. It’s a full day packed with a lot of energy, hope, and love!

Chicago winters can be brutal. Now those kids will be nice and warm in their new hats, gloves, and socks. There will be more coming in the New Year when preschool chairs and storage bins will be ordered for the daycare.
